FAQs
FREQUENTLY ASKED Questions
How much do saunas cost?
Sauna prices vary by design, so a range may be better. An indoor sauna with an electric heater can cost from $5,000 – $20,000 and an outdoor sauna would range from $8,000 to $30,000.
Can I put one in my house?
Yes, you can put one in your house in accordance with local building and fire codes.
How much will it cost to heat up?
A wood-fired stove is the cost of the wood whether you harvest it yourself or not. An electric stove uses around 8 kw of electricity, so local electric rates and how frequently you use your sauna would determine your electricity cost. Some people have seen only a $40 increase to their electric bill by using their sauna several times per week.
What are some typical precautions?
At Soulful Saunas, we believe in creating space for deep relaxation and healing. To ensure your experience remains safe and beneficial, please keep the following precautions in mind:
Skip the alcohol.
Using a sauna after drinking can increase the risk of dehydration, low blood pressure, and irregular heart rhythms. It’s best to enjoy your session with a clear body and mind.
Start slow, listen to your body.
If you’re new to sauna use, begin with 5–10 minutes. With time and experience, you can build up to 15–20 minutes per session. More isn’t always better—follow your body’s lead.
Hydration is key.
Sauna sessions naturally increase sweating, so be sure to rehydrate afterward. We recommend drinking 2–4 glasses of water to replenish lost fluids and support recovery.
Check in with your health.
If you’re feeling unwell, it’s best to wait until you’re feeling better before using a sauna. Pregnant individuals or those with health conditions like low blood pressure should consult with a healthcare provider before use.
Children are welcome—with care.
Children over the age of 6 can safely enjoy the sauna, but should always be supervised. Limit their time to 15 minutes or less and ensure they stay well-hydrated.
Your well-being is at the heart of what we do. These simple guidelines help ensure each sauna session is not only relaxing—but restorative and safe. If you have any questions or health concerns, we always recommend consulting with a qualified medical professional.
